Sample Uber Wishlist, Nancy
Style: Confident, Functional, Sexy
Body type: Petite Slim Hourglass
Style Package: Amplified 360 (Closet Edit, Uber Wishlist, Outfits, Photo Shoot)
Career: Travel Writer, Communication Coach + Blogger
Lifestyle: Nancy spends her time working from home, with clients or traveling. She has very specific needs for her shoes, so it was important to honor that and to also select pieces that expressed her creativity while being appropriate for any situation. Items need to travel well and have the ability to dress up or down as needed.
Approach: Some clients prefer an Uber Wishlist to a shopping excursion. The Uber Wishlist is ideal for someone who has a unique style, wears tall, petite or plus clothing, prefers sale items especially designer sale items or doesn’t have the time or interest in a shopping trip. When she receives the list, she can click and purchase what she likes and skip the others. The list is long to give her options. She can also use this as a guide to purchase similar items on her own. After her items arrive, we meet for an hour styling session to determine what is working and what has challenges. She can also have a tailor join us to alter any items.
Because Nancy is petite and on a budget, we went with the Uber Wishlist. Below is her list. Feel free to take a look at Nancy’s entire blog post about her Poplin Style experience.
In her words:

Your consultation provided useful information and your Closet Edit told the rest of the story. Because you have an array of great pieces that fit and are reflective of your style, these are intended to supplement those and elevate your overall style game. Enough talk, let's get to it!

Let's begin with your night out to the Opera or other elegant occasions. This timeless velvet dress hugs you in all the right places. Plus, because it has long sleeves, you can skip the jacket (unless you want one for flavor or transport). You adore soft fabrics like velvet and this is sure to last you for years.
Worried about what shoes you'd wear with it? Worry no more. You'll see a heavy emphasis on shoes on this list to open you up to other comfort brands that are aligned with your style. These Rockports are a lovely alternative to a heel when you need something dressier. The metallic heel gives it that extra something unexpected without sacrificing comfort.
I recognize that this yellow isn't in your current collection. However, I couldn't stop myself from including it. Let's experiment. Generally, this color works well for Springs and Autumns, so I'm feeling good about trying. Plus the fit is amazing AND the price is a major win, too. I love this because it mixes and matches so beautifully with your new and existing collection. Try it over dresses, with jeans, with white or with the cargo pants below. So many options. And, it's vegan leather, so it's just right for the rain.
Skinny jeans look best on you right now. Why not show off your figure? The placement of the zippers is just right on these cargo pants and the color works effortlessly with your new and existing collection without turning to blue denim or white each day. Just right as we transition seasons. These work throughout the year. Dress them up or down.
So, you've got the marigold jacket, the green cargos and and a neutral (white, ivory, navy, teal) top. Don't worry, you'll see more on the list. How do you complete the look? Why not finish things off with these super comfortable driving shoes from Sofft? There's no need to have this color anywhere else in your outfit. It's a neutral, too! And it goes with your new and existing collection. Love these with jeans or black, as well.
It's true. I'd like to move you away from black. However, you have a wide collection of black shoes and because comfort shoes are key to your wardrobe, that's going to continue over the years. So, let's tie everything together, shall we? This fitted vegan leather jacket is fun, unexpected, functional and shows off your shape. It's affordable and keeps things fresh. Every few years, we can find a new style of leather (or vegan leather) jacket for you, if necessary. I'm loving this one over dresses, with skirts or pants. It's sure to be a go to.
You could have this top in several colors and never be disappointed. Super flattering for your frame, effortless for travel and easy to pair. Try it with the vegan leather jacket and the purple pants!
Yes and yes! You are drawn to purple and it works for you. These are a fun and unexpected addition to your look that is just right for spring and summer. Try these with any of your scoop neck tanks and the leather jacket or another blazer. Or pair them with your chambray top. I expect they'll be a little longer on you, so the length will be just right.
Another solid option for shoes, these work beautifully with the purple pants and leather jacket. You'll forget you have them on.
Why not pair those shoes with this stellar Michael Kors dress? Another great option for traveling, teaching or going out, this is expressive and flattering. Layer a blazer or the leather jacket over top or wear it solo, depending how you are feeling that day about showing your upper arms. You can also layer one of your turtlenecks over the top and transform it into a skirt. Yet another day's outfit on the road. This also works well with boots.
In the Spring, try pairing it with these sandals from Sofft. The studs on this pair (and on the dress) add some sexy into the mix.
And now.... to the jumpsuit! This is EVERYTHING. Truly. It's comfortable, stylish, versatile and communicates your style. Plus, is shows off your shape and is great for travel. Dress it up or down for virtually every occasion and feel free to layer either of the vegan leather jackets over top to complete the look.
Try it with any of the shoes on this list, but I especially like these from Sofft.
Your fitted Michael Kors dress with the white stripe is a major win. Why not learn from that experience and offer up another fitted dress. This one has a scoop neck and ruching at the hips. Love it. It's also available in multiple colors, so if it's appealing, I'd pick up more than one. Layer it up in colder months or wear it solo in warmer weather. Just right with flats, boots or sandals.
You're a fan of animal prints and this is a top that fits right into your existing collection. It's flattering, great for travel and brings a fun print into the mix. I'm recommending vegan leather and animal print options for all the other elements of your wardrobe. So, this one is a great top to go with existing pieces, but I wouldn't pair it with the leather without bringing in some natural fabrics (cotton, denim, silk, cashmere).
I'm loving it with white skinnies like these beauties that will look incredible on you and work throughout the year. Unless it's actually raining, you can wear them:)
A super fun and expected spring shoe, these look great with the white jeans and the animal print top. In general, the white jeans also look lovely with nude or metallic shoes or the animal print shoes on this list.
You are drawn to pieces with an asian influence and this ha that and more. This comfortable, functional and still very sexy top shows off your waist while minimizing your stomach and your upper arms. So, if you are feeling extra aware of either of those parts of your body, this is the top for you. Try it with vegan leather pants or the skirt below for maximum impact. Alternatively, wear it with white pants (skinnies or wider leg) or a basic pair of jeans and either of the leather jackets on this list. A blazer over top is a win for a more classic approach.
Your white pants are too large and these are just right. Pair them with any of the tops on this list (especially the green top above) for the perfect look for warm weather. White pants work especially well with nude or metallic shoes.
Another super comfortable and still hip shoe.
One jumpsuit is never enough. This is a great option for evenings as you hit the art scene. Simply wear a strapless bra and head out for a comfortable evening with maximum impact. Pair with any of the black shoes on this list.
Another flattering, fun and effortless top. This one is also great for travel. Layer a cami underneath if you'd like a more modest approach for work or wear it solo for a night out.
A workhorse piece that's just right for rainy weather.
You look incredible in this cut. It's tailored, comfortable, easy to pair and balances out the edgier pieces.
You'll be very happy to have a pair of animal print flats. Both of these are solid choices. Remember, animal prints operate as a neutral, so they go with any solid combination. They won't be ideal with your print tops, but they are a fun alternative to basic black.
Try them, or any of the other shoes on this list with this effortless black dress. It's all the things and the price is right.
It's important that we include some classic pieces in the mix, if for no other reason than to provide you some options. I adore this blazer. You had some options in your closet that were nautical, but they weren't quite right. This is your nod to that style. Flattering, this jacket shows off your shape. Plus, stripes are a super fun option to pair with prints. This is navy, so we are moving from black AND it works beautifully with the pants below, as one option. It's also lovely over dresses or paired with the white pants or jeans on this list. So many opportunities!
A classic wrap dress in a color that you love. This timeless piece travels easily. Ann Taylor often has sales, so keep your eyes peeled. You're sure to have this one for years.
This is sure to be a go-to top. It's flattering, comfortable, stylish and pairs perfectly with leather. Of course, it travels easily, too and can be worn for work or play. In short, it's versitile.
As promised, an affordable pair of vegan leather leggings. It can't hurt to try them and time is running out before they are gone in favor of warm weather options. I love them with the leopard shoes and a natural fabric on top (cotton, chambray, denim, silk, cashmere, etc.). And, they are ideal for rainy days.
You've got a collection of blazers as they look great on you. The key is finding the proper blazer. Both of these relaxed options introduce some color into the mix and give you another piece that's super soft, something you appreciate.
Next up, two pairs of pants that are both just right for you. This pair of skinnies from Lauren Ralph Lauren is just right. They introduce some grey, which you appreciate and they work well with your collection. They will easily mix and match with a number of pieces in your current collection as well as items on this list and they are just right for warm weather.
These were too good to pass up. Kut from the Kloth works for you and navy sheen jeans are a whole lot of fun. In the end, you'll likely end up with an array of the items that are vegan leather, shiny or animal print. The goal is to offer options and I'll show you how whatever pieces you choose work effortlessly to communicate your personal style and work with your lifestyle, too.
And finally, one more jumpsuit. Options for going out that are flattering, comfortable and appropriate for Seattle weather are always a welcome.
And there you have it. I adore your collection of accessories so we'll maximize those during your outfit session. For now, dive in and explore any of the pieces that speak to you. When they arrive, we'll try them together and I can explain my thinking behind pieces that are a departure for you. Be fearless. Enjoy! I can't wait for our session!
