Sample Uber Wishlist, Ashley
Style: Preppie Punk
Body type: Inverted Triangle
Style Package: Amplified 360 (Closet Edit, Uber Wishlist, Outfits, Photo Shoot)
Career: Works at a tech firm in Seattle
Lifestyle: Ashley lives in the city and doesn’t have a car, preferring to commute by foot, transit or ride share. She also travels quite a bit for pleasure, both internationally and within the country. She has an active lifestyle including outdoor sports and attending live music regularly.
Approach: Some clients prefer an Uber Wishlist to a shopping excursion. The Uber Wishlist is ideal for someone who has a unique style, wears tall, petite or plus clothing, prefers sale items especially designer sale items or doesn’t have the time or interest in a shopping trip. When she receives the list, she can click and purchase what she likes and skip the others. The list is long to give her options. She can also use this as a guide to purchase similar items on her own. After her items arrive, we meet for an hour styling session to determine what is working and what has challenges. She can also have a tailor join us to alter any items.
We really wanted to include pieces that felt like they were one of a kind, so we went with the Uber Wishlist. Plus, Ashley loved designer pieces but wasn’t sure they would fit into her budget. Below is her list. Feel free to take a look at Ashley’s outfits, photos and testimonial to get a sense of her experience.
In her words:
…She studied my shape and listened closely to my preferences and then we went through my closet. It's like I got a sort-of template to work off of for what looks good on me and what doesn't. So now I can shop at a thrift shop, consignment shop, or Nordstrom - anywhere - and know what looks good on me and why. That is life-changing for someone like me that sucks at putting outfits together but who really wants to look polished. I am sooo glad I met her. She didn't judge me, didn't try to get me to buy new clothes I didn't want nor need, and was extremely respectful of my time and my space. She didn't pressure me into spending more money on her "bigger" packages nor into going to fancy boutiques. I love knowing how what specific pieces my closet still needs to feel complete. Friends and family have already noticed my new look and it's only been a few days since Mellicia came into my life. If you are on the fence, just go for it and call her. My closet is now like a beautiful boutique curated just for me. It feels amazing to get dressed now thanks to her.

First up, it’s time to invest in a beautiful coat. Between the fun coat with stars, your leather jacket and this beauty, you’ll be ready for any occasion. I especially love this with all the edgy (read: leather) items on this list. It’s the perfect balance. Choose from either color story. Yes, the black is more flattering; but both work very well in the collection and if you love that blue, it will be hard to pass it up. Because of the length of the coat, either works. It’s also nice to have a long coat to wear with minis for warmth and slightly more conservative option, depending on the situation.
It’s time to embrace jewelry. Mixed metals (like your bad ass ring) work with everything, so they offer the most flexibility.
I’m a big fan of this uber cool heartbeat ring. It’s also available in gold, but I went for silver with this one because of the buckles on the boots below. Mixed metal jewelry will pull together buckles, zippers, etc. that are of varying metals.
We were chatting about the All Saints dress and this was the item in my mind. It’s flattering, hip, looks great under a blazer or leather jacket (or solo) and it just right for any dressy event. This one is super dark blue.
You’ve got the coat, the jewelry, the dress and now it’s time to finish it all off with THE boots. This pair from Jeffrey Campbell is everything. You’ll be shocked at how versatile the color combo is and the hardware is all you. These are comfortable and are great with skirts, jeans, leggings, you name it.
I’m loving this silver leather bracelet, especially with the Jeffrey Campbell boots.
You can never have too many super hip graphic tees. Yes, they draw the eye up, but you know how to pair them to balance your frame. I listened to the Led Zeppelin and David Bowie Spotify stations to get me in the zone. Pick and choose what speaks to you. The first tee is spot on with the boots above. Just sayin’.
Blazers are a great way to pull the preppie look into your outfits. This one is ideal. The cut is flattering, navy is both interesting, flattering and works effortlessly with your existing pieces and this list. Love it over the graphic tee and then finish things off with leather, white, denim, black or even red or burgundy. Options abound.
These crop tanks are incredibly flattering, comfortable and useful for your lifestyle. The red stripe is glorious with red shoes below. It also pulls in your red handbag. But really, any color is a win. Try either of these with the blazer above, the white jeans below and the red shoes for the win.
Good American fit you very well, so why not stick with them? This pair also has ankle zippers which are crazy flattering. However, they are high rise. So, I wanted to give you a mid rise option as well.
United Nude will blow your mind. I can’t wait for you to visit the site and see all the magic. Also, there’s nowhere in Seattle or Vancouver to see them in real life except for the very occasional appearances at Clementine’s in Pioneer Square. Trust me: they are as magnificent in real life as on the site. These will work with virtually your entire collection. Trust me.
If you’d prefer something a little less adventurous and more affordable, too, this red bootie is a sure thing. Either way (or both!), they’ll get lots of use. Side note: These will also work really well with your camo pants.
I am obsessed with this sweater. First, I know it has lots of pink, so if it doesn’t speak to you, just move along. The Rack has some other options, a few of which are on this list. And yes, it does draw the eye up, so you’ll need to balance it with shapely pants on the bottom (like any of those on this list). Or, opt for the textured/ leather leggings and an expressive or bulky shoe. I like the platform loafers, any of the heels or the knee high boots- for starters. Of course, red boots and jeans are pretty great, too.
While we want to avoid masculine pieces, a denim jacket is super useful to you. This one is the best option and we’ll be sure to pair it with feminine and/or sexy pieces for the most desirable effect.
Some fun and affordable earrings that make a statement without being too loud.
Why not pair those earrings with this? As far as turtlenecks go, this is a spot on choice for your style. The tie dye is reminiscent of your other tie dye piece. I especially love it with leather on the bottom. Add any of the jackets or blazers on this list to minimize your top half and balance things out. Because there are so many options for bottoms that are especially flattering, this gives you more freedom to experiment.
For instance, these pants are SO good and you can rock them with the turtleneck above and the boots below. Or go for more contrast with a colored shoe. Options abound. Oh, did you see the studs down the side?!
Yes, you have the magical ability to wear very high heels. And, no, you don’t want to wear them everyday to work or to walk around town. So, it’s vital that we have some options that can be go to’s for everyday. This pair of ankle boots fits the bill.
Another fun and affordable pair of earrings that works with everything. Mix and match as you like.
I’m a big fan of cuffs for you as they have a pretty awesome rock and roll vibe. Plus, drawing attention to your hands is pretty great. It’s also helpful because detailing or jewelry on your wrists really is pulling the eye to your waist and hips, which is flattering for your figure. This collection works for the preppier side or the punk side.
I know how much you love purple, so I wanted to make sure we had some purple pieces in the mix. This sweater is really flattering and versatile. Choose purple or another available color. It’s lovely layered over a shirt with a collar to give that preppie vibe while flattering your frame.
Open back tops are flattering on you and really communicate your authentic personal style. I love this one with leather or denim on the bottom. And again, it’s purple! Try it with a jacket over top at the office, then take off your coat for a show or a night out after work. It’s also lovely with the white jeans. I vote you try it with the flare jeans below for a slight hippy vibe.
Speaking of flares, this pair of extreme flares are pushing the boundaries for you. The 70’s inspired style speaks to your rock and roll side and is insanely flattering for your frame. They look best with wedges or boots. You’ll definitely want a heel. Try them with a concert tee and your leather jacket or a blazer from this list. So good.
I wanted to give you a variety of options with skulls. Each of these is super cool, works well for your body and mixes well with your other pieces. Pick and choose as many or as few as you’d like. While these work with everything on the list, I especially like them with the plaid pants below and some red shoes or platform options.
I’m really into this one.
So far we’ve concentrated on affordable, functional and still super fun jewelry. Now, we enter a land of a investment pieces. This one is higher quality, works well with all your pieces and can be worn on the daily, if you’d like.
The number of sweaters in your collection, your ski jacket and the fact that you are from Boulder clearly communicates that we need to make sure you have some cozy sweaters. This color is beautiful and this sweater is just right with leather while you are making a strong impression and denim for subtler times.
Are you seeing these?! Embracing the preppie vibe often includes plaid. The thing is, plaid on the bottom is more flattering for you than on the top. It also shows confidence and is next level. So, I vote for these with the sweater above and the platforms below. Or try a scull top and the leather jacket and red shoes (or the red/black boots). How about this with the purple top? Or your black blazer? Really, they are more versatile than you might think. Plus, punk rock has got that bad ass plaid, too. Plaid- it’s all the things.
I’m SO EXCITED about these that I almost just sent them to you solo. OMG. What else is there to say? OMG.
One more investment piece. You may not opt for this one, but you get the idea for the future. A bold cocktail ring in red, burgundy, purple, etc. will be a go-to that really ups your game.
What’s more punk rock than stars? This sweater is reminiscent of your coat and is a stellar layering piece. Try it with any of the collared shirts on this list underneath for the masterpiece. I love it with the plaid shirt and a black leather skirt or pants and red or red and black shoes. And that’s just the beginning. It’s also great with white jeans and a denim or leather jacket. You get the idea. P.S. It’s navy blue.
This is the one! Wearing it solo, you’ll need to tuck it in, tie the side, do the half tuck, something to make it more feminine. But it can be done AND it will be perfect layered under a sweater and paired with leather.
You’ve got two options for affordable and flattering vegan leather skirts. This is one.
Ahhhhhh!!!!!! So, let’s say you wanted to invest in a pair or two of designer shoes- THESE are one of them. A classic pair that you can wear year after year to communicate your preppier side while coordinating PERFECTLY with the punk side. And have you seen these with the coats that kicked off this list?! AHHHH.
It’s important that you have some pieces that feel good to move in, are sexy and feel like you. Your array of pieces with arm cut outs was a clear indication where we need to go- the off the shoulder (just one shoulder) shirt. I vote for this one tucked into the pants below. So good. This is also great with the flare jeans or your camo pants or really any of the pants on this list.
Two pairs of vegan leather pants that will work very well for you. Choose one or both depending on the style that speaks to you and the pricepoint.
A classic, slim fitting button front top will be useful for years to come. Generally, we’ll look to layer it- under a sweater or jacket. In this case, consider pairing it with the light colored jacket and pants below and the multi-colored heels below that. So sophisticated.
Unexpected? Yes. Perfect. Also yes. This preppie/classic/ vintage inspired jacket isn’t ideal for you if paired expectedly. BUT, if you mix it up with super edgy pieces, it’s SO good. Try it as described above. Or, layer it over the skull tee with leather pants or a leather skirt below and a kick ass shoe on this list.
These pants are a big departure for you, but they are worth the adventure. They flatter your frame and up your game. Wear them with heels, boots, plaftorms or sneakers.
Here’s the creme skull shirt I mentioned. It feels expensive and it’s next level with the shoes above, a leather skirt or pants and a blazer or go for denim on the bottom and your black leather jacket. Choices, choices!
This is where the real magic happens. A collared sweater means you can avoid the unnecessary bulk of layering a top underneath your sweater. This one will work for years to come. Consider pairing it with a colored bottom or bold shoes. Red is always striking with animal prints. It’s all about balance. This can be easily dressed up or down and layered under all sorts of jackets or coats.
The second vegan leather skirt. Also affordable, this one is edgier. I love them both for different reasons.
With so many short skirts, it’s important that you have a boot that you’ll wear with them. These are super comfortable and work well in cold weather, so you can still roll with a skirt despite the rain (or snow!).
This blouse may feel a bit dressy for everyday, but it just depends how you pair it. Elevate it with a nice pair of trousers from this list. Or make it feel more casual with distressed or white jeans. It’s flattering, elegant and super functional. A long sleeve blouse means you can skip the jacket if you are warm enough. Also, navy is so good with all the shoes on this list.
I know you aren’t a big fan of flats, so I was on the hunt for a reasonable heel for everyday wear, just in case the other heels are a bit too much for long days. These introduce your preppie side to an otherwise edgier outfit. For instance, try them with leather pants and watch your outfit transform. They work well with the navy top above. So this combo works with most pants.
And last but certainly not least, this crazy flattering dress with studs from All Saints. It’s a solid go-to for any remotely dressy occasion. Just add shoes and call it good. Of course, any of the jackets on this list work with it, too.
And there you have it! The list of dreams. I can’t wait to hear how it all comes together. As I mentioned, order whatever speaks to you and keep your eyes peeled for sales in the next few days for Black Friday (and early Black Friday deals)- then you can check back for price adjustments. Have fun!
